The service matches consumer transport demands with other consumers going in the same direction. People can transport each other’s packages and get small monetary compensation in return. PiggyBaggy partners with e-commerce and delivery management companies to create volume for the ecological, economical and socially sustainable effect.
Kesko is Finland’s largest private grocery trade operator.
PiggyBaggy and Kesko’s K-citymarket Lahti Paavola hypermarket organised a grocery delivery trial in spring – summer 2015. Based on the feedback received from the customers of the hypermarket’s online store as well as from the crowdsourced PiggyBaggy drivers the trial was a success. The service concept included a phone ordering option making the online grocery store and reasonably priced home delivery accessible also for non-it-literate elderly people.
K-citymarket Lahti Paavola is the first hypermarket (opened 1971) of the the Finland’s largest private grocery trade operator Kesko.
PiggyBaggy and K-citymarket Lahti Paavola hypermarket organised a very successful crowdsourced delivery trial in spring – summer 2015. Finland’s first crowdsourced delivery of groceries were conducted in this trial. During the 2.5 month trial 43% of the on-line orders included a PiggyBaggy crowdsourced delivery. The trial was very well received by both the hypermarkets customers as well as the PiggyBaggy drivers.

PiggyBaggy organised the Kalasatama Smart Container trial joined by the City of Helsinki and several other partners in the fall of 2014. The Smart Container serviced as a local community hub. PiggyBaggy created a 24/7 container library and the container was used to catalyze sharing economy services such as local deliveries, food and recycling circles.
